Create a safe place for tax deductible donations with proper fiduciary oversight and a process for longer term distribution focusing on the gaps within the State and Federal relief efforts.

We have partnered with the Santa Cruz Community Fund to leverage their existing 501(c)(3) status and proven track record to ensure that 100% of donors' gifts will be used for the relief effort in the Bonny Doon Community. Additionally, we are coordinating with local community leaders and the Bonny Doon Elementary School Board to develop a method for strategic allocation of funds with a focus on those that need it most. All donations are tax-deductible.

Raising funds and making connections

We endeavour to raise funds and make connections that help the residents of Bonny Doon stabilize their families & lives and rebuild their community after the devastating CZU Lightning Fire. We may also extend those services to those who have risked their lives fighting the fire to protect our forests and homes.
‍
The committee acknowledges there are many groups that operationalize disaster relief and will sit alongside existing state, federal and community aid; so, our focus will be on addressing the need that fall outside of that purview. 
‍
Please have patience with this grass-roots effort as we are nearly all residents of Bonny Doon and victims of the fire as well. Our current vision is outlined below:

Phase 1:
collect funds, catalogue and align resources, cultivate strategic partnerships for accountability and 501c3 oversight, establish strategies for responsible and strategic funds distribution

funds distribution & community support in the effort to rebuild our beloved community
